JOB SUMMARY

The Extra Duty Coordinator is responsible for considering and accommodating requests by public or private entities to hire eligible members, during their off-duty hours, to perform security related employment activities such as: traffic control, crowd control, or crime prevention duties requiring a uniformed presence. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and rapport with vendors and deputies both via telephone and in-person, in addition to effective time management skills is required.  Incumbent must prepare, explain and coordinate contractual obligations to vendors and follow-up to ensure requirements are met.  Maintenance of accurate records, files, reports and other written and statistical data will be required. NOTE

It is understood that every incidental duty connected with operations enumerated in job descriptions are not always specifically described and personnel, at the discretion of the Sheriff's Office may be required to perform duties not within their job descriptions.  This position is not eligible for an assigned agency vehicle.

Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required. Accounting experience helpful to include accounts payable and receivable.  Must maintain a valid Florida driver license at all times. Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.

 MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The physical abilities listed below are estimates of time spent during a typical workday to perform essential functions and responsibilities. Members in this position may be required to:

• Sit up to  6 hours per day
• Stand up to 1 hour per day
• Walk up to 1 hour per day
• Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
• Occasionally bend, squat, reach, kneel or twist. 

 Other Requirements:

• 20/40 vision (corrected/uncorrected)
• Ability to hear conversation at a normal level (assisted or unassisted)
