Hiring Range: +/- $120,000 depending on qualifications
Range of the Position/ Grade: $109,975 - $162,441 | Grade 340
FLSA Status: Non-exempt - Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday 7am to 3pm with ability to respond to emergencies outside regular hours.

Position Summary: The Village is seeking an experienced and motivated Water Filtration Plant Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our water treatment facility. This role is responsible for overseeing plant personnel, coordinating operations and maintenance activities, and ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality drinking water.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Operator in Charge of the Water Plant.
Lead daily operations of the Water Treatment Plant and ensure safe, reliable water production
Deliver excellent customer service by responding to resident questions and concerns professionally
Supervise, schedule, train, and support plant operators and maintenance staff
Manage staffing schedules, time records, and employee leave requests
Supervises, directs, issues discipline as needed. Responds to grievances as they arise in a timely fashion.
Coordinate purchasing, budgeting, and inventory for plant operations and maintenance
Make critical operational decisions and respond to emergencies as needed
Prepare reports, project updates, and communications for residents and Village leadership
Ensure compliance with EPA, IEPA, IDNR, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
Assist with regulatory inspections, audits, and public education efforts
Oversee plant maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and capital projects
Conduct field inspections and monitor project progress to ensure quality and efficiency
Foster a positive team environment through coaching, performance management, and employee development
Identify training opportunities and support career growth for staff members
Step in to support plant operations and maintenance activities when needed Collaborate with other Public Works divisions on special projects and seasonal operations, including snow and ice response.
Assists with the supervision of other Public Works divisions as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned
Must haves for the ideal candidate include:
License(s) and/or Certification(s)
Must possess a valid State of Illinois Class D drivers' license and able to obtain a CDL Class B license within 6 months of employment.
Must possess a Class “A” IEPA Water Operator’s License or able to pass the Class “A” IEPA written examination within twelve (12) months of hire.
Education and Experience
Minimum High School Diploma
Two-year college degree with course work in chemistry, physics or engineering is preferred.
Minimum of five (5) experience as a water treatment plant operator with strong maintenance or operating systems experience preferred.
