Role/ Department:
As a Senior Analyst within the Luxembourg Depositary team, you will be a key member of the growing Northern Trust Global Services SE (NTGS SE) business. The role is responsible for providing technical, operational, and regulatory oversight support to a diverse range of Luxembourg-domiciled investment fund clients (UCITS and AIFs). You will act as a day-to-day client contact while ensuring compliance with UCITS and AIFMD Depositary obligations, supporting governance activities, and driving operational excellence across the function.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Perform ongoing UCITS and AIFMD Depositary oversight activities for Luxembourg fund clients.
- Support the execution of Depositary monitoring programmes and regulatory controls.
- Collaborate with Depositary and EMEA leadership teams to address technical and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders on Depositary-related matters.
- Monitor and assess the performance of delegates and third-party service providers.
- Prepare management information, risk reporting, and governance materials.
- Participate in Depositary governance forums and contribute to regulatory oversight discussions.
- Support client onboarding activities, due diligence exercises, and new business initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Investigate and resolve operational and technical queries relating to Depositary services.
- Maintain and update operational procedures and controls in line with regulatory and risk requirements.
- Stay informed of industry developments and evolving regulatory requirements impacting Depositary services.
- Build strong client relationships and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the client experience.
- Demonstrate leadership, collaboration, accuracy, and accountability within the team environment.
The successful candidate will benefit from having :
- Strong understanding of Depositary services and oversight requirements for both traditional and alternative investment funds.
- In-depth knowledge of UCITS and AIFMD regulatory frameworks and associated Depositary obligations.
- Experience working within a Depositary, Custodian, Management Company (ManCo), AIFM, or Luxembourg fund servicing environment.
- Proven client service and stakeholder management experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk and control.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting business change, transitions, and client onboarding initiatives.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent English required; additional European language skills would be advantageous.
- Ability to mentor, train, and support colleagues across the team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools.
