Description
Senior Project Manager – MDM Props
MDM Props is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team and lead ambitious creative and technical projects from initial concept through to fabrication, installation and final handover.
For over 30 years, MDM has built a reputation for turning ambitious creative ideas into beautifully made, technically resolved reality. Working from our London headquarters and workshops, alongside our growing Middle East operation, we deliver projects internationally for leading artists, designers, brands, cultural organizations and visitor attractions.
Our work is varied, challenging and rarely ordinary. Projects can range from one-off artworks and complex sculptural installations to large-scale themed environments, experiential projects and highly detailed bespoke fabrication.
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead multi-million-pound projects and help shape MDM’s future path.
Working closely with clients, designers, fabricators and technical teams, you’ll be the key link between creative vision, commercial requirements and project delivery — taking ownership of projects and ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest creative and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary client contact and build strong, lasting relationships.
- Lead projects from brief and design development through fabrication, installation and sign-off.
- Manage budgets, programmes, resources, documentation and project deliverables.
- Translate creative briefs into achievable, commercially viable solutions.
- Coordinate Project managers, designers, fabricators, subcontractors and technical teams.
- Oversee materials, finishes, samples, quality and creative standards.
- Identify and resolve project risks, technical challenges and programme issues.
- Manage client reviews, snagging, approvals and final handover
- Support new business, tenders, pricing and repeat client opportunities.
- Champion continuous improvement across project and production processes.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in project management within props, set fabrication, themed entertainment, experiential or a similar creative industry.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- Strong creative judgement with a expert understanding of fabrication and technical feasibility.
- Excellent planning, organization, programming and documentation skills.
- Strong commercial expertise, managing P&L’s, cashflow, and financial reporting to the board, in large and complex projects.
- Extensive experience estimating, pricing and winning new work, in our industry.
- Confident leadership, mentorship and positive problem-solving abilities.
- A passion for delivering high-quality, memorable creative work, worldwide.
Why MDM?
This is an opportunity to join an established, highly experienced creative fabrication business working on genuinely unusual and ambitious projects.
You’ll work alongside an exceptionally broad mix of creative, technical and fabrication specialists, with access to extensive in-house production capabilities and the opportunity to be involved in projects from the earliest creative conversations through to seeing the finished work installed.
With projects across the UK, Middle East and internationally, the role offers real variety, responsibility and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with some of the most interesting clients in the creative industries.
What We Offer
- High-profile, immersive and creatively ambitious projects.
- A collaborative and innovative working environment.
- Opportunities to develop your creative and leadership expertise.
- Exposure to a wide variety of materials, processes, disciplines and project types.
- The opportunity to work on projects in the UK and internationally.
- Extensive employee benefits.
