- Physical Therapist Supervisor
Description
Manages, coordinates and supervises the administrative, fiscal and day-to-day operations for the Physical Therapy Clinic.
Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, budgeting and staffing.
Provides in-service training, consultation, and supervision to physical therapists, student physical therapists, and medical personnel.
Coordinates program with athletic trainers, Leach Center, and other specialty workers.
Develops and implements individually designed planned programs of physical therapy treatments to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction based on physician referral and/or patient's medical diagnosis.
Makes medically indicated referrals to other specialists/consultants and coordinates treatment planning with other providers.
Evaluates effects of treatment and adjusts to achieve maximum benefit.
Instructs/educates patients in treatment procedures to be performed between visits and after discharge.
Documents the patient history, diagnostic finding and treatment in the patient's Electronic Medical Record.
Attends and participates in UHS professional and administrative committees. Conducts case presentations, special projects, and other related assignments as assigned.
Actively participates with other medical staff in implementing approved policies and procedures emanating from these committees.
Assists with preparation for accreditation.
During periods of reduced clinical demand (ie: summer), may support other administrative, outreach, or operational tasks as needed to support the overall mission and function of the department. During non-peak times, responsibilities may shift to include cross-training, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors from an accredited school of PT & 2 yrs experience in a hospital home health or private office setting.
Current licensure to practice required by the Fl DOH Division of MQA.
Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of current principles, methods and practices for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
Ability to assess patient condition independently or in consultation. Provide appropriate treatment or referral for treatment.
Ability to train and supervise employees.
Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files from active or archive sources. Basic filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic.
Knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of management.
