- NYC - Community Organizer - Housing Issues
Description
ommunity Organizers needed for a housing issue advocacy program in New York City. Organizers will conduct direct outreach with community members about housing affordability and availability in order to build a coalition of voters engaged and activated on these issues that can help realize tangible real world results.
These positions are part of a program set to kick off in early August and run through the end of 2026 with the potential to extend into 2027.

Responsibilities
Direct community outreach, conducted door to door, engaging and educating community members on housing issues.
Identify potential activists through follow up phone calls, text messages, and 1:1 meetings.
Build relationships with community members to increase engagement on housing issues.
Organize small neighborhood conversations with engaged activists and their networks
Activate engaged community members to communicate with elected leaders and community influencers
This is a full-time position lasting through the end of 2026. Compensation includes a base pay of $6,500.00 per month plus a $750 health care stipend and MTA transit reimbursement.
Organizers will work a five day week schedule that would run into the evening and include Saturdays.
