Description
The Project Coordinator, Manufacturing & Engineering Programs serves as the primary contact for scientific, government, and commercial customer projects. This role coordinates project schedules, deliverables, documentation, and customer communications while ensuring contractual requirements and project milestones are met. The Project Coordinator supports document control, tracks project status, and proactively manages risks to help ensure successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and alignment between customers and internal teamsKey Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned scientific, government, and commercial customer projects, maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate project activities from initiation through completion, including schedules, milestones, deliverables, action items, and contractual requirements.
- Lead customer and internal project meetings, providing regular status updates and facilitating communication between customers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality Compliance, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, schedule impacts, resource constraints, and scope changes, and work with internal teams to develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain ownership of project documentation, including document control, revision tracking, customer deliverables, technical reports, compliance records, and project files.
- Support technical writing, documentation development, and organization of project-related information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate engineering and manufacturing activities to ensure project requirements, customer expectations, and production schedules remain aligned.
- Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), design revisions, and project documentation updates while maintaining clear communication across departments.
- Develop and maintain project tracking tools, reports, and customer-facing documentation using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve project management processes, documentation systems, communication workflows, and overall project visibility.
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Business, Project Management, Technical Communications, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred, but not required
- 3-5 years of experience coordinating projects, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, technical, or scientific
- Strong project coordination skills including schedule management, milestone tracking, risk identification, scope management, and cross-functional communication.
- Experience with technical writing, document control, revision management, and maintaining organized, audit-ready project documentation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP systems, project tracking software, or controlled documentation systems preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively work with customers, vendors, engineering teams, manufacturing personnel, and leadership.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of computer and office work.
- Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites, vendor locations, or industry events as required.
- Ability to walk through manufacturing and engineering work areas to support project coordination activities.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
