The Singletons is seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and community-minded individual to serve as a Part-Time Community Outreach & Family Support Coordinator in Tucson. This role requires a detail-oriented multitasker who can confidently manage multiple priorities with efficiency, professionalism, and care. This individual will play a vital role in helping The Singletons deepen its presence and expand its impact in Southern Arizona by working closely with the Phoenix team to further establish and position the organization in Tucson.
This role will implement a streamlined version of our Phoenix-based family support programs while serving as the primary point of contact for Singleton families in Tucson and surrounding communities. A comfort and confidence in relationship-building with oncology offices, cancer centers, social workers, and patient navigators is essential to ensuring families are connected to the support and resources The Singletons provides.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support
- Coordinate multiple monthly Care Day pickups, ensuring delivery or distribution of meal kits and Bare Necessities bags
- Maintain regular communication with assigned Singleton families to assess evolving needs
- Assist with family intake coordination, document collection, and ongoing verification of treatment
- Provide compassionate, confidential, and timely support to families navigating a cancer diagnosis
Community Outreach
- Develop and maintain relationships with local oncology clinics, social workers, and referral partners
- Represent The Singletons at occasional outreach events, tabling opportunities, and community meetings
- Help grow awareness of The Singletons’ mission and services across the Tucson area
- Send social media content about “What’s Happening in Tucson?” twice a month
Volunteer & Donor Engagement
- Create and coordinate engaging volunteer activities at The Singletons' office (1–2 times per month)
- Coordinate with the Phoenix team on donor thank-you communications and small community events.
- Assist in identifying in-kind needs and potential donation sources (e.g., hygiene items, pantry goods)
- Create a pipeline and coordinate Bare Necessities Drives within the community
Requirements
Qualifications
- Passion for supporting families facing critical illness or crisis
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and remotely, with regular check-ins
- Ability to lift and transport lightweight supplies (meals, care bags, etc.)
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, social work, or community engagement a plus
