We also operate a in-house pattern shop, certified heat treat and NDT quality department.

Company History

A third generation company, Boose Aluminum Foundry Co., Inc. has continually strived to produce the highest quality aluminum sand castings for all types of applications.

The company was established in 1933 by Oran B. Boose and his wife, Kathryn. Within the confines of a small frame building, located a short distance from the present site, the Company cast and painted small trivets, toys and knickknacks.

Several years later the foundry was destroyed by fire and rebuilt on its present location in the form of a concrete block structure having a total floor space of about 2,000 square feet.

During the early 1940’s the building was expanded several times. An additional 5,000 square feet was added. Also, the Company began pouring both brass and gray iron in addition to aluminum.

With World War II putting greater demands on an already rapidly expanding market for high quality castings, Boose met the challenge by more than doubling its capacity and devoting its years of experience solely to what we knew best, production of high quality aluminum sand castings, for which we were awarded the Navy “E” for excellence.

During the 1950’s demands set forth by the Korean conflict resulted in another major expansion program. The Company added additional molding facilities, a large core room and remodeled an
adjoining home for office space.

Oran Boose had but one dream, to produce and ship 1,000,000 pounds of aluminum castings during a single year. But the 1960’s brought about a general slow down. Plagued with numerous health problems, Oran died in 1965 at the age of 62, never realizing that dream.

Upon his death, the responsibility of operating the business fell on the shoulders of his wife, Kathryn and his son, Vernon, both active officers of the Corporation. The Company embarked upon an extensive reorganization program. A well-rounded Board of Directors was formed. The Company hired a Foundry Engineer, Plant Manager and Sales Manager. Also, the Company began to mechanize its molding operation.

During the early 1970’s the sales force was expanded and by 1977 the one time dream of its founder became a reality with production of over 1,000,000 pounds of aluminum castings per year.

Boose looked to the future with hopes of carving an even greater niche for itself in a rapidly expanding worldwide industry. With the 1980’s came the addition of an automatic molding department, which could be operated independently from the rest of the facility.

In 1992, a large upgrade occurred with the purchase and installation of a thermal sand reclamation system, which eliminated the need to continuously purchase new sand for the No-Bake floor mold operation. At the turn of the century Boose was pouring just short of 2 million pounds.

With the new century came new technological advances in testing equipment. Striving to produce the best quality casting possible, Boose pursued these advances. Digital equipment was put into operation in the Quality Control Department with the addition of a Digital X-Ray machine and Faro layout unit.

Today Boose is still a family-owned Corporation, proud of its past, and still exclusively producing quality aluminum sand castings. Boose is more than ready to meet the challenge of today and the future by continuing to grow.
