The University Marketing Coordinator is responsible for helping with the day to day management of social media channels, enhancing relationships between our audience and the University, and creating content for social media and the University blog and podcast.  Responsibilities include:

Social Media

  1. Manage day to day responsibilities of all official university social media channels.
  2. Execute the results-driven social media strategy set by UMC.
  3. Assist in the planning and implementation of social media strategies and goals.
  4. Assist in the assessing and reporting on the effectiveness of social media strategies.
  5. Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms.
  6. Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content for digital platforms.
  7. Maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels.
  8. Achieve social media goals set by the Senior Director of UMC that elevate the University and promote awareness of its brand, outcomes, and values. 
  9. Develop, monitor, and document assessment and continuous improvement iniatives.
  10. Other duties as assigned


  1. Assist the Senior Director of UMC with marketing and other content needs.
  2. Write, edit, coordinate, and help distribute content, including publications, blog, website content, and other marketing material that support the University’s brand and enhance its image. 
  3. Establish and cultivate university and community relationships.
  4. Assist in identifying and resolving any issues with any marketing content in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Research trending healthcare and higher education topics that support content for the University Podcasts. 
  6. Coordinate and host guests for the University Podcasts.
  7. Contribute to the development and management of the UMC budget.
  8. Assist the Senior Director with marketing of the RMU Health Center and Clinics (Center for Communication Disorders, Community Rehabilitation Clinic, RMU Eye Clinic, etc.)
  9. Assist the Senior Director of UMC and the Brand & Design Manger with planning and executing brand awareness campaigns for the university.
  10. Coordinate marketing efforts for university events on and off campus. 
  11. Coordinate marketing materials for sponsorship events, like golf tournaments, community health fairs, etc.

University Store

  1. Responsible for marketing University Store apparel.
  2. Assist the University Events & Experience Coordinator in managing the University Store
  3. Manage University Store website and online customer experience
  4. Other duties as assigned

Other Duties 

  1. Occasional travel for UMC and/or professional development may be required.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay Range: Commensurate with experience up to $43,000 annually

Education & Certification:

Bachelor’s degree required

Required Knowledge:

Thorough knowledge of higher education as it relates to marketing and communication. 

Experience Required:

A minimum of 0-3 years of experience in marketing and communication, preferably within higher education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools.

Excellent social listening skills.

Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space.

Must have excellent copywriting and editing skills.

Impeccable time-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Able to coordinate and direct projects. 

Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

Solid analytical and technical skills.

Possess a solid understanding of effective marketing techniques

Ability to use related hardware and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, databases, Social Media Analytic Tools).

Creativity, design, and photography skills.


Some travel is required.
