About The Role
Senior Research Scientists collaborate across a broad portfolio of sophisticated evidence synthesis projects in a multi-level team structure. Responsibilities include development of deliverables (e.g. study protocols and technical reports), handling day-to-day client communications, as well as delegating and overseeing tasks completed by junior researchers. This position will complete complex job responsibilities independently as well as provide mentorship and direction for others in delivering project work.
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Lead components of broader evidence synthesis projects to support the health technology assessment process; collaborate with project leads and junior staff members to ensure high-quality outputs/deliverables
- Develop client-ready deliverables including protocols, components of statistical analysis plans, technical reports, and slides, identifying necessary deviations from templates to ensure content aligns with objectives
- Serve as the communications lead on projects, including supporting or leading internal and external meetings as well as responding to clients; may involve supporting face-to-face presentations to clients
- Draft and/or review regular meeting update slides, associated minutes, and action items
- Be accountable to clients and leadership for timely delivery and financial performance of project components
- Understand and contribute to resource allocation discussions
- Support business development by contributing to research proposals and presentation content; may also participate in client meetings
- Serve as a line manager and mentor for junior staff
This role allows you to work 100% remote OR out of our Vancouver, Boston, or New York offices.
Requirements
- 3-6 years experience in health economics and outcomes research
- Master’s degree in a subject related to health services research e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, biomedical sciences, medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health
Other required:
- Strong technical experience in systematic literature reviews and/or indirect treatment comparisons (e.g. NMA, MAIC, STC, etc.) for the purposes of health technology assessment submissions
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and medical affairs
- Experience in a consulting environment
- Experience in project and client management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- PhD in a subject related to health services research or statistics
- Understanding of economic modeling, in particular, experience integrating results from indirect comparisons in a cost-effectiveness framework
- Track record of relevant publications
