The City of Carthage is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the daily operations and upkeep of the Carthage Municipal Golf Course. This working supervisory role involves managing maintenance staff, ensuring high-quality playing conditions, maintaining equipment and facilities, and supporting minor construction projects.
Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within golf course maintenance
High school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE)
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Missouri driver's license
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, operate equipment, bend, kneel, push/pull mowers, and work outdoors in various conditions
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (80 hours per bi-weekly pay period)
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Turf grass maintenance, disease prevention, and nutrient requirements
Chemical application and sprayer calibration
Operation and maintenance of heavy grounds equipment
Irrigation system repair and upkeep
Ability to:
Supervise full- and part-time staff
Maintain accurate records and operate within a budget
Safely operate mowers and specialized equipment
Communicate effectively and work courteously with staff and the public
Essential Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate the Golf Maintenance Crew daily
Assign and prioritize maintenance tasks and work orders
Repair irrigation systems, mechanical, and electrical issues
Gather cost estimates for projects and equipment
Purchase chemicals and supplies for turf maintenance
Maintain records of completed work and report monthly to the Golf Operations Supervisor
Collaborate on course setup and maintenance needs
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position
