Mercer Canada is seeking a Senior Coordinator - Group Health & Benefits. For our Winnipeg office
This is a hybrid role that requires being in the office at least 3 days a week.
As a Senior Coordinator, you will manage inquiries related to claims and group insurance (such as life insurance, health, dental, disability, etc.), including adjacent benefits such as EAP and Telemedicine. Additionally, you will serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day group benefits administration support, database management, assist client teams with new account setup, marketing and implementation of new plans including carrier transfers, and validate invoices following renewals or insurer changes.
We will count on you to:
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, addressing inquiries related to group insurance plans and adjacent benefits such as EAP and Telemedicine
Respond promptly to claim issues and provide support for life and disability insurance claims
Assist client teams with new account implementations, including file setup and drafting Insurance Placement Forms
Support marketing and implementation of benefit plans, including carrier transfers
Validate invoices following renewals or insurer changes and prepare experience reports for insurers
Assist in preparing renewal reports and finalizing renewals with clients and carriers
Participate in quality assurance and service standard governance, including peer reviews
Maintain and update national databases of Mercer clients
Stay informed on Mercer products, services, and group benefit market trends to effectively meet client needs
Review contractual documents to understand group benefit coverage for employers and employees
Support benchmarking reports and benefit plan comparisons
What you need to have:
3 to 5 years of experience in group insurance with an insurer, broker, or financial services firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive problem-solving approach
Intellectual curiosity with a commitment to continuous learning
Ability to work collaboratively in teams and manage tight deadlines and evolving client needs
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
