Description
OverviewThe Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex AI/ML, data platform, and cloud modernization programs by combining strong delivery execution with deep technical understanding. This role operates at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and business, ensuring that technically complex initiatives are translated into executable plans and delivered predictably at scale.
The TPM is expected to engage credibly with architects, engineers, and platform teams, actively participate in technical planning and design discussions, and manage delivery risks arising from system architecture, data flows, infrastructure, security, and integration dependencies. In addition to delivery execution, the role carries accountability for stakeholder communication, commercial alignment, and governance adherence in regulated enterprise environments.

- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI/ML, data platform, and cloud modernization initiatives across engineering, platform, and business teams using Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models
- Apply agile delivery practices including iteration planning, backlog refinement, sprint execution, and PI planning (where applicable)
- Partner closely with architects, tech leads, and engineers to translate technical designs into executable delivery plans
- Own and maintain integrated delivery plans covering architecture, development, data, infrastructure, security, and release activities
- Drive technical dependency management across application, data, infrastructure, and integration layers
- Actively participate in architecture, design, and technical planning discussions to identify delivery risks, constraints, and trade-offs early
- Manage release planning and execution across CI/CD pipelines and Dev/Test/Prod environments
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks related to scalability, data quality, security, performance, and environment readiness
- Ensure delivery alignment with SDLC, agile, and hybrid delivery models
- Provide clear, technically grounded delivery status, risks, and recommendations to senior technical and business stakeholders
- Support budget tracking, cost control, and vendor coordination, ensuring delivery commitments align with commercial constraints
- Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and audit requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle (GDPR, SOC2, ISO)
Requirements
Skills & Requirements
- 4 to 8 years of experience in technical project or delivery management
- Proven experience managing AI/ML, data platform, or cloud modernization programs
- Strong understanding of SDLC for data, AI, and platform-based systems
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, data pipelines, AI/ML workflows, and system integration patterns
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release management, and multi-environment delivery (Dev/Test/Prod)
- Strong capability in technical dependency management, risk assessment, and milestone planning
- Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and vendor management in enterprise programs
- Familiarity with compliance, audit, and governance frameworks such as GDPR, SOC2, and ISO
- Ability to engage credibly with senior engineers, architects, and platform teams on technical topics
- Strong stakeholder management and executive-level written and verbal communication
- High ownership, accountability, and ability to make decisions under ambiguity
- Fluent Japanese proficiency - mandatory
- Business-level English proficiency
