Tech & Facility Coordinator
Part-Time (14 hours/wk with occasional extra hours)
Non-Exempt
Salary/Wages: $18-$20/hour with some benefits
Job Location: Primarily on-site
Direct supervisor: Executive Director
The Tech & Facility Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Carnegie Center’s programming, staffing, and building needs related to equipment, repairs, and safety. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 4 pm - 7:30 pm with occasional hours outside business hours for building emergencies and security alarms. Deadline for applications: January 18, 2026.
Tech
Set up and troubleshoot technology needed for classes, programs, meetings, events, and the workplace including laptops, TVs, PA system, LCD projection equipment, office phones, etc.
Maintain inventory of tech and keep equipment and related cords organized where staff can access them if needed outside of the Tech & Facility Coordinator’s hours.
Serve as the liaison with our copier vendor, WiFi and phone providers, and others in case of equipment/service repairs and troubleshooting needs.
Facility
Serve as the liaison with LFUCG’s facilities department for maintenance issues. Submit work orders, meet with city staff for repairs/updates, and contact them when emergencies arise.
Serve as the primary person responsible for our security system, responding to alarms after hours and notifying our vendor of false alarms and repair needs. Also oversee security cameras.
Ensure our building and grounds are a welcoming and safe space for all present. Conduct safety trainings and drills with staff, and assist staff in ensuring patrons are safely in designated areas when emergencies arise. Keep an eye on weather situations. Check for and remedy physical dangers, such as lights that are out or slick steps. Ask patrons to leave who violate our policies or create unsafe/unwelcoming situations. Also observe areas beyond the Carnegie Center (i.e., Gratz Park) for potential situations that may endanger our patrons.
Coordinate cleaning needs with our cleaning vendor, including routine and additional cleanings. Also order/purchase cleaning supplies needed by the cleaning vendor or our staff.
Help with literary rentals happening during open hours, including setting up tech equipment.
Be present in the Carnegie Center lobby during the busiest times to oversee general safety and also serve as a back-up staff person for the front desk team when needed.
Other Duties
Assist with annual Carnegie events, such as the Books-in-Progress Conference; additional work hours may be available.
Other relevant duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements
Position Requirements
Strong knowledge and experience with technical equipment such as laptops, copiers, computer cameras, and sound equipment required.
Experience in using cell phone apps (general knowledge) and also software for MS Office, Google Suite, and Zoom required.
Ability to stand for multiple hours and lift up to 25lbs, and other physical demands as required.
Ability to travel to the Carnegie Center on short notice.
Ability to speak more than one language is a plus.
