Commonwealth Rolled Products is a leading manufacturer of Aluminum rolled products for the Automotive, Commercial, and Industrial markets. The Company operates its production facility in Lewisport, KY with the support of an Automotive Innovation Center for R&D, Sales and Field Service in Madison Heights (DET), and Inside Sales in the Cleveland, OH area.
Our production facility is seeking to add a talented Shipping Coordinator to its Supply Chain team. The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective administrative support relating to packing and shipping activities while ensuring on-time delivery to our customers from Lewisport Legacy and CALP Shipping. Documentation and verification of daily production output, daily packing output, and daily shipments are essential to ensuring daily reports reflect accurate numbers. Demonstrate an exemplary safety record through compliance of all safety rules and policies.
Responsibilities Include:
- Actively participate in maintaining a zero incident safety culture.
- Live and champion the Commonwealth Rolled Products core values; Safety, Integrity, Customer Focus, Ownership, Excellence, and Teamwork.
- Coordinate transportation of materials and products by utilization of established procedures and implementation of new methods.
- Tasks within your role shall be performed with the utmost competency to ensure all packaging and shipping activities are performed effectively to meet all customer requirements and improve internal and external rejections associated with administrative errors.
- Verification of customer requirements and shipping documents to ensure successful shipments.
- Work closely with Inside Sales to problem solve issues pertaining to customer orders.
- Administrative work including filing, paperwork, etc.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly tracking to provide up-to-date information to others in the Logistics Team, as well as other departments that have regular interaction.
- Preserve and file documents per ISO and internal and external audits.
- Interface with internal and external to provide dispatching services and carrier discussions.
- Manage and support plants, (Legacy & CALP) within assigned areas in the management of logistics issues including operators.
- Develop and document processes and internal controls to improve service and carrier management.
- Participate in continuous improvement principles that eliminate waste, reduce costs, and meet customer requirements.
- Work effectively with teams to determine solutions to problems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Solid data-entry skills with the ability to be detail-oriented
- Basic knowledge of operational and supply chain processes
- Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency required for Microsoft Office Suite application
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in supply chain or a related field preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a production and inventory planning-related field desired
- Working knowledge of ERP including Oracle and Legacy systems preferred
