What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a Wired Infrastructure Project Manager, also known as an Information System Engineer Project Manager, to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the entire project lifecycle for wired telecommunications infrastructure, serving as the principal interface with internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and modernizing our infrastructure, ensuring it meets current technological standards and supports the evolving needs of our organization. You will make technical decisions, manage project changes and risks, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, you will identify efficiencies and conduct lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Facilitate regular coordination meetings with Kirtland AFB Communication oversight to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
• Manage customer support initiatives and foster cross-organizational collaboration to enhance project outcomes and stakeholder engagement.
• Act as Sandia Designated Representative (SDR) for purchase orders.

*This position will require at least 80 % on-site work.

Salary Range

$102,400 - $199,700

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, plus 5 years of directly relevant experience. Experience (without a degree) must include the following: BISCI RCDD Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) for telecommunications infrastructure design.
• Technical knowledge of fiber and copper systems, with proven experience in managing large telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the organization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

• Proven ability to identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to articulate project plans and execute them successfully.
• Experience working with COMSEC, Jira, Service Now ticketing system and Protected Distribution Systems (PDS).
• Understanding of Sandia National Laboratories infrastructure cabling.
• Current EE98 Journeyman Electrical license.
• Active DOE Q-level security clearance.

About Our Team

Our department provides a world class IT infrastructure service for Sandia in support of their mission and national security. We provide modern telecommunications systems for data (wired infrastructure), telephone, and encryption capabilities to Sandia with emphasis on securing and protecting Sandia's information, standardization, and reducing heterogeneity. We will provide these services in an effective and proactive manner, using customer support, applications, and the data necessary.
