SENIOR CIVIL PROJECT ENGINEER
Council is seeking a motivated and experienced engineer or project manager to join a small multidiscipline team within Council’s engineering department.

The Role
- Permanent full time
- Band 7 - $101,398 to $113,263 plus 12% superannuation
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing civil infrastructure projects including design, procurement, contract management and site supervision
- Preparing and reviewing design briefs, technical specifications, plans and tender documentation
- Monitoring project budgets, reporting on progress and contributing to annual capital works planning
- Providing technical engineering advice to internal stakeholders, developers, consultants and the community
- Ensuring all works meet Council standards, industry guidelines and safety requirements

You will have knowledge in contract management, work site safety, and construction processes.

Requirements
- Qualifications relevant to the role, for example a tertiary level qualification (recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia) in Construction Management, Engineering or Project Management plus a minimum 3 years’ experience. Alternatively, substantial experience in the field.
- Experience in delivering municipal civil engineering projects (direct supervision, project management of in-house and/or external design consultants and/or construction contractors). Understanding of project management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple activities; to plan and organise work and to achieve realistic timetables and objectives autonomously and with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with ensuring safe workplaces for civil works.
- Experience in contract documentation preparation and contract administration.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, community members and contractors.
- Good computer and data management skills including Microsoft Office applications essential, familiarity with drafting software and/or survey equipment would be an advantage.
- Experience with monitoring and reporting on project budgets.
