- Project Controls Specialist
Description
We are seeking a motivated Project Controls Specialist to support complex engineering and project execution efforts within the nuclear industry. This role is responsible for scheduling, cost tracking, and performance analysis across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will help project managers ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update project resource loaded schedules using established project controls practices
Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to define scope, sequencing, and durations
Establish and manage schedule baselines and track performance against plan
Work with project managers and technical teams to develop cost estimates in support of proposals
Track and analyze project actual cost and accruals
Coordinate with project managers to develop project status and budgetary forecast reports using estimate-to-complete (ETC) and estimate-at-completion (EAC) processes
Perform schedule analysis, including critical path, float, and variance analysis
Integrate schedule performance data with financial data to produce unified cost-schedule performance reports
Support risk identification and evaluate potential schedule impacts
Assist with change management by assessing cost and schedule impacts of proposed changes
Support proposal efforts with schedule development and planning inputs as needed
Generate reports and provide schedule insights to support project decision-making
Maintain organized project documentation and scheduling data
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
1 - 3+ years of experience in project scheduling, planning, or project controls
Experience developing and maintaining detailed project schedules
Familiarity with scheduling best practices and project controls principles, including earned value concepts
Experience with ERP systems (Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, or comparable)
Experience with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
Experience supporting projects within DOE/DOD, Commercial nuclear or other highly regulated industries preferred
Experience working on large-scale capital or infrastructure projects (preferred)
U.S. Citizenship required
Be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance (preferred)
