| Job Summary | The Saha CVRC is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar who will be working in Dr. Congqing Wu's lab. The Wu lab is focused on how the immune system defends—and sometimes harms—the body. We investigate how inflammasome-activated pyroptosis releases tissue factor positive microvesicles that trigger coagulation and drive pathology in infection and sterile inflammation using in vivo models. Our recent work uncovered NINJ1, a key mediator of plasma membrane rupture, as a potential target to block inflammation and thrombosis. We combine molecular biology, in vivo models, and data science approaches to study the role of immune response and clotting in diseases with vascular pathology like sepsis, aortic dissection, and fibrosis. Postdocs will engage in exciting research, data analysis, and publications, with support from new R01 funding. We seek motivated, early career postdoctoral scholar with curiosity in immunity and thrombosis and commitment in uncovering mechanisms linking inflammation and coagulation with the potential to impact human health. For more details about our work, please refer to DOI: 10.1016/j.immuni.2019.04.003, DOI: 10.7554/eLife.91329.3 Contact Dr. Congqing Wu at cwu3@uky.edu with any questions. |
