Summary: 

The Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time Postdoctoral Associate to join an interdisciplinary research team focused on developing and evaluating AI-enabled and smart assistive technology solutions to support individuals with disabilities. The Postdoctoral Associate will be supervised by Dr. Dan Ding.

 Responsibilities

• Lead/contribute to the development and evaluation of AI-powered tools and smart assistive technology interventions to support individuals with disabilities and their families.

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to assess the effectiveness of technology-based interventions in improving access to information, self-management, and independent living.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers, clinicians, and community partners to develop knowledge bases, collect user feedback, and refine technology solutions.

• Develop knowledge translation materials and resources to support the adoption of smart assistive technologies.

• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences, and contribute to grant writing and project reporting.

Qualifications

• PhD in Rehabilitation Science or related field.

• Experience conducting research involving technology development or evaluation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a record of scholarly publications.

• Knowledge of assistive technology, disability, healthcare systems, or rehabilitation research is highly desirable.
