Med-Neurological Surgery - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (25005886)
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery is hiring for a Post Doctoral Associate in the RNEL lab under the direction of Dr. Marco Capogrosso.
In this position, your role will be to design, test and validate spinal cord stimulation for upper limb motor dysfunction in Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Your main responsibility will be to lead an early feasibility study under IDE in people with upper limb dysfunction with SMA and to acquire data to identify the mechanisms of action of SCS. You will be expected to publish scientific publications in high profile journals as well as supervising the work of graduate students in the project. Additionally, you will be expected to seek independent funding for your future growth as an independent investigator and any other assignments that the principal investigator may request.
Minimum education and requirements to be considered:
- PhD in Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences
- Any coding skill, Matlab and/or Python to be able to execute complex analysis and program instrumentation machines
- Must have published at least 1 first-author publication or a pre-print
