- Plastic Surgery Clinical Research Fellow
Description
The Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at New York University (NYU) Langone Health invites applications for a Plastic Surgery Clinical Research Fellowship. This highly competitive program provides intensive multidisciplinary research training for postdoctoral fellows committed to academic careers in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Along with clinical research, research fellows will also be able to participate in substantiative basic and translational research projects. Mentorship is directed by Dr. Daniel J. Ceradini and Dr. Eduardo D. Rodriguez, and other faculty within the department.
Responsibilities and Opportunities
- Lead and support studies spanning transplantation biology, wound healing and vascular biology, craniofacial biology, craniofacial and craniomaxillofacial surgery, craniomaxillofacial allotransplantation, three-dimensional printing to enhance craniofacial bone scaffolds, burn therapy, breast reconstruction, hand surgery and transplantation, microsurgery, and virtual surgery.
- Develop study protocols and manage IRB submissions; collect/analyze data, draft abstracts, and prepare manuscripts
- Attend and present research at national and international conferences
- Participate in weekly didactic educational conferences where you learn about the latest plastic surgery techniques and have access to world-renowned plastic surgeons in various specialities
- Mentor medical students and junior trainees on research projects
Compensation: This position includes a salary and benefits package.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold an M.D./D.O or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an ACGME-accredited surgery residency program dedicated to taking two research years; must have written approval from Program Director stating that they have at least 2 years of dedicated research time
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (required)
- Excellent scientific writing, communication, and project-management skills
