- Pipeline Integrity Project Leader - Columbia SC
Description
Dominion Energy South Carolina has a vacancy in Cayce, SC. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating field projects that support the company’s Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) in accordance with federal pipeline safety regulations under 49 CFR 192 Subpart O.
There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Duties and responsibilities include:
Conduct direct examinations of buried steel gas transmission pipelines.
Oversee excavation activities and contractor crews associated with inline inspection (ILI) and external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) projects.
Utilize non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT/NDE) methods including ultrasonic thickness testing, magnetic particle inspection, and laser scanning.
Perform pipeline defect and root cause analysis.
Determine remaining strength of and repair pipeline defects.
Utilize GPS equipment and technology.
Ensure all safety and environmental procedures are followed.
Performs most complex mathematical and analytical calculations, research and design to provide engineering and technical support to designated areas.
Gathers, compiles, reviews and analyzes information and data for use in engineering tasks.
Develops and implements process improvements.
Coordinates with other departments and outside agencies.
Prepares/creates/maintains documents, photos, drawings, reports, system records, and database information.
Requirements
5+ years of field experience relevant to gas TIMP projects
AMPP or ASNT certification – minimum CP2, CIP Level 2, PCIM, Corrosion Technologist or NDE Level II
Knowledge of applicable regulations in 49 CFR 192 Subpart O
Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong leadership and team building skills
Proven decision-making skills and ability to resolve problems
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities
Strong personal computer skills
