Description
Maintenance SupervisorSummary Utilizes knowledge of facilities & equipment to plan, organize, and direct all maintenance functions for a designated shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Assess the labor, material and time needed to complete a maintenance function. Work with internal customers to coordinate downtime required for maintenance needs.
- Manage the maintenance hourly workforce on a designated shift, with a focus on safety and safety of others.
- Maximize production uptime efficiencies.
- Plan and schedule for the efficient execution of non-breakdown maintenance jobs within the plant area, and to maximize equipment uptime and minimize maintenance expenses.
- Direct the assigned workforce in the installation and maintenance of assets including equipment, tooling, systems in assigned areas, making sure that the skilled craftsman are working safely, following all OSHA regulations and requirements and Lock Out/Tag Out all equipment where required.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly spreadsheets for the Maintenance Manager showing the schedules, number of manhour usage, etc.
- Accountable to enforce contractual obligations and to work with HR to maintain consistent application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Assist craftsmen with troubleshooting machines.
- Create and implement solutions to recurring issues seeking out proper approvals when required.
- Research and purchase required outside materials when needed.
- Perform studies and coordinate process improvements
- Participate in cost savings projects
- Assist engineering department with installation of projects when needed.
- Assist with internal customer activities/support as requested

Education and/or Experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, drawings and technical specifications.
- Extensive working knowledge of manufacturing practices in a diverse range of processes.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Prior Supervisory experience preferred
- Prior Maintenance experience required.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and varying environment.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Prior experience with writing and troubleshooting PLC programs & hardware, especially Allen Bradley.
- Associate's degree (A. S.) in an Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline or applicable years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software and Word Processing software.
