Description
Description:The National Fire Protection Association's mission is to help save lives and reduce loss with information, knowledge, and passion. Established in 1896, we are dedicated to the elimination of death, injury, and property and economic loss due to fire, electrical, and related hazards. The Association delivers information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards, research, training, education, outreach and advocacy; and by partnering with others who share an interest in furthering the NFPA mission.
To better meet the needs of those who rely on our information and knowledge to keep people and property safe, we are amidst a transformation to expand our influence and further our safety mission. We are becoming increasingly digital and global to grow, thrive, and save more lives from fire, electrical, and other hazards. To accomplish this, we need effective leaders at all levels of the Association who understand what we are striving for, why it is important, and how to execute our vision and who passionately want to see NFPA through this important stage. It is an exciting and empowering time to work at NFPA.
PURPOSE
We are looking for a collaborative, organized, and systems-savvy Project Manager to join our IT PMO team. This person will be part of an enterprise PMO team and lead projects that enhance and integrate NFPA's enterprise systems—such as NetSuite, HubSpot, and related applications, helping teams streamline operations, improve data flow, and deliver measurable business value.
The ideal candidate thrives in structured environments but is not afraid to adapt when priorities shift. They are comfortable translating between business and technical teams and enjoy bringing clarity to complex systems. They know how to keep projects moving through clear communication, structured follow-through, and a strong understanding of how enterprise systems fit together.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and manage projects across enterprise systems (NetSuite, HubSpot, main corporate website with integrated eCommerce, etc.), ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines.
- Lead cross-functional teams through project lifecycles—intake, discovery, planning, execution, testing, and rollout.
- Maintain project documentation including charters, project plans, RAID logs, timelines, budgets, and communication plans.
- Lead sprint-based work where appropriate to maintain steady progress and visibility (sprint events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives).
- Support system enhancement requests and intake processes to prioritize and coordinate ongoing improvements.
- Monitor dependencies, risks, and change requests; communicate clearly to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Partner with IT, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and external vendors to define scope, milestones, and success measures.
- Proficiency with project management tools like Jira, Smartsheet, or Confluence.
- Provide feedback, updates, and support to foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- 36 years of experience managing IT or enterprise system projects (ERP, CRM, or marketing automation).
- Familiarity with platforms such as NetSuite, HubSpot, or similar enterprise systems.
- Proven track record in managing enterprise projects from start to finish.
- Experience coordinating across technical and non-technical teams and collaborating with external vendors.
- Strong understanding of project management principles (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
