Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring an Infection Control Coordinator to join the Quality Service team!
Description:
The selected applicant will assist in the continual development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of the infection control program at Sampson Regional Medical Center (SRMC). Ensures comprehensive surveillance to reduce the risks of acquiring and transmitting infections. The Infection Control Coordinator collaborates with hospital staff, and medical staff to assess, design, and implement action plans to prevent healthcare acquired infections.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and registered with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- BSN and Certification in Infection Control is preferred.
- Five (5) years of hospital experience in nursing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and decision-making skills are required.
- Required to attend Part 1 and part 2 of the Statewide Infection Control Program's Infection Control Courses within the first year in order to obtain knowledge of microbiology and infectious diseases.
Hours:
Salaried position. Normally works eight hours a day, five days a week. May work other hours as required or requested for efficient operation of the department.
