Under the general direction of the Director of HR & Administration, the HR Coordinator is responsible for organizing the day-to-day, full lifecycle staff recruiting function for a select group of positions, while managing the HR portion of the onboarding process for all new hires. Also taking direction from the HR Generalist, the Coordinator will ensure that managers are well supported in their search and hiring efforts. In addition, this person will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Recruitment/Onboarding
- Coordinate the Firm’s non-exempt recruitment efforts (job postings, resume review, applicant screening, scheduling interviews, etc…) within the HRIS system
- Manage unsolicited resumes and maintain a database of potential future candidates
- Liaise with hiring managers to develop a thorough understanding of the position being recruited for and to ensure a robust understanding of the work being performed
- Stay informed of hiring trends and innovative recruiting techniques to remain competitive
- Oversee the HR specific onboarding process for all new attorneys & staff
- Process I-9s and other compliance related documentation
- Coordinate with Legal Recruiting & Professional Development on related hiring activities for attorneys
- Create and foster relationships with local institutions (e.g., colleges, universities) and diverse professional organizations to attract and recruit alumni and other prospective candidates
HRIS/Payroll
- Accurately enter new hire information into the HRIS system, ensuring timely onboarding and data integrity
- Perform regular audits of HRIS data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Provided necessary and timely employee change updates to Payroll
- Maintain and update employee records
General
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or closely related field required
- 1-3 years of related HR experience required, with a multi-state law firm or professional services organization preferred
- HRIS (e.g. ADP) experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- General knowledge of office equipment and tools
- Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools
- Ability to build rapport with attorneys and professional staff
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Self-starter with high initiative and the ability to work independently but within a team environment
- Demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality as legally appropriate

Position Details
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, non-exempt level position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $33.00 – $38.00 hourly. This position is currently available in our DC and CT office location only.
