- Health & Youth Sports Coordinator
Description
The mission of Jubilee Park & Community Center (Jubilee) is to be a catalyst for community revitalization and enrichment in the Southeast Dallas/Fair Park neighborhood. The agency provides free, multi-generational services to families living in the 62-block neighborhood of Jubilee Park and surrounding areas - a part of Dallas that has long been under-resourced.
Founded in 1997, Jubilee has grown into a campus that includes a community center, resource center, Head Start facility, Early Head Start facility, senior housing complex, and a three-acre park. We’ve also worked closely with residents to identify five key pillars that inform our work and reflect the community's greatest challenges and opportunities. These pillars are Safety, Health, Housing, Education/Workforce, and Opportunity.
The Health and Youth Sports Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position focused specifically on our Heath Pillar and responsible for helping residents build and/or maintain healthy habits, access high-quality health education, engage in interventions that prevent or manage chronic disease, and access health resources. A core tenet of this role is to provide high-quality, innovative, relevant, and engaging programs that improve the health and wellness of residents in the Jubilee Park neighborhood – especially youth sports. Jubilee’s Health and Wellness programming consists of adult and youth health education, exercise and fitness, clinical work done in partnership with Parkland Health and Jewish Family Service and outside health and wellness organizations, and a robust youth sports program. This role will, at times, require work and event attendance outside of traditional work hours.
