AB WASHINGTON BEEFTITLE: Harvest Maintenance Supervisor
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Harvest Maintenance Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to the Harvest Division Maintenance department and report directly to the Division Manager. The position will be responsible for maintaining the health of assets in the Harvest Division by using an effective maintenance program. Cross-functional teamwork is critical to success in the role in collaborating with personnel from operations, maintenance, food safety, and safety on plant initiatives and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises plant maintenance personnel, and is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, controlling coordinating, scheduling, and assigning all work requirements associated with breakdown, preventative maintenance, predictive technologies, project, and day to day work orders while ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulations in maintenance.
• Provide continual leadership and guidance to team members for the purpose of increasing their effectiveness and establishing good working relationships
• Provide immediate response to operational maintenance concerns and communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in all areas to minimize interruptions in production.
• Investigate production delays and take corrective action, as necessary.
• Supervises repairs/projects conducted by Maintenance personnel and Contractors and ensures the quality of their work and their adherence to deadlines through rigorous follow-ups.
• Plans and controls expenditures in accordance with the operating budget of the department.
• Maintains safety, health and environmental policies and procedures while ensuring compliancy with all regulations pertaining to the maintenance department are met at all times.
• Actively promote plant safety and environmental programs and procedures that are in compliance with plant and regulatory requirements
• Actively promote adherence to plant Quality, Sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices and SQF standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specification
• Manage staffing levels to current labor standards requirements
• Coordinate the proper training of team members within the department
• Apply disciplinary actions in accordance with plant policies and procedures
• Promote an environment conducive to teams, teamwork, and accountability
• Complete special projects, duties, and assignments, as appropriate
• Perform other duties as instructed by the Division Manager
• Responsible for housekeeping in all areas
QUALIFICATIONS:
• In depth knowledge of a manufacturing facility and strong experience with equipment overhaul, machining, pneumatics, hydraulics, and piping repairs with maintenance of processing equipment is considered an asset.
• Experience with Process Improvement Methodologies (Six Sigma, TPM, etc.)
• Experience driving Preventative Maintenance Systems
• Willingness and flexible to work in shift as scheduled (afternoon shift/weekends)
• Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
• Knowledge of Windows and MS Office suite
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
• Ability to maintain high expectations for self and others, demonstrating a dedication to achievement of results
• Ability to analyze data and information, and to make effective and timely decisions
• Ability to use innovative approaches to resolve complex problems
• Ability to work under pressure and to react to situations with a keen sense of urgency
• Solid problem solving, project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
• Detail oriented, organized, dependable and resourceful
• Strong safety and performance record
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• Educational background in mechanical or engineering technology (diploma or degree).
• Three years supervision experience in the maintenance and/or operation of process manufacturing facility in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
• Consideration will be given to candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
SALARY RANGE: $77,968 - $85,000 per year
BENEFITS: Competitive benefit package offered for employees (and qualified dependents) working 30+ hours per week includes medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, 401k, PTO accrual up to 15 days per year, six (6) paid holidays annually, and three (3) floating holidays.
