"Dedicated to Developing Healthy Habits of Mind, Body, and Heart" School Business Administrator/Board Secretary The Verona Public School District, a high-achieving suburban district in Essex County, New Jersey, is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary. This is a key cabinet-level position responsible for the financial, business, and operational functions of a district with a $50 million budget, serving approximately 2,200 students across six schools. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of school district finances, including budget development, accounting, payroll, purchasing, insurance, grants, and investments. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements. Supervise business office staff and operations, including transportation, food services, and facilities. Serve as Secretary to the Board of Education, coordinating with the Superintendent in the preparation of agendas, minutes, and official documents. Qualifications: Valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate Demonstrated expertise in public school finance, budgeting, facilities management, and board operations Strong knowledge of NJDOE regulations, audit requirements, and school funding laws Director of Facilities The ideal candidate is a strong leader who will continue to maintain high standards and possess strong interpersonal skills to develop and sustain a collaborative environment. The qualified candidate will plan, organize, and coordinate all activities associated with maintenance, operations, and security of the physical plant, equipment, and grounds under the auspices of the Verona Board of Education in order to provide students and staff with an environment that is safe, clean, pleasant, and conducive for teaching and learning.
