WCI - Work, Community, Independence is a non-profit human services agency dedicated to empowering and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to lead rich, meaningful lives at home, at work, and in their communities. We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified Day Supports Coordinator to join our team and help enhance the quality and scope of our services.
Main Responsibilities:
Enhance and Expand Services: Continuously improve the quality and scope of services provided to individuals.
Develop and Implement ISPs: Create and oversee the implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) tailored to each individual's needs.
Daily Site Management: Ensure the efficient running of daily activities at the site.
Supervise and Train Staff: Lead and mentor Employment/Habilitation Support Specialists, providing guidance and support.
Specific Responsibilities:
Behavior Plans: Revise and update behavior plans, data collection methods, and schedules to keep services relevant and optimal for individuals.
Positive Atmosphere: Establish a welcoming and energetic environment that fosters positive relationships with participants, peers, staff, family, and the community.
Intervention Strategies: Develop and implement intervention strategies and data collection methods to support individuals' goals.
Training and Role Modeling: Provide ongoing training and role modeling to ensure proper implementation of behavior plans.
Resource Allocation: Allocate staff resources effectively to support individuals in their daily schedules.
Staff Supervision: Supervise and train Support Specialists, ensuring they meet all training regulations and policies.
Interviewing and Evaluations: Assist in interviewing, training, and evaluating Support Specialists and Relief staff, facilitating individual participation in these processes.
Certification Maintenance: Ensure staff maintain all necessary certifications and comply with WCI training regulations.
Bi-Weekly Supervision: Conduct regular bi-weekly supervision sessions with all Support Specialists.
Community Involvement: Explore and assess options for work, volunteer opportunities, community involvement, and other enriching experiences for individuals.
Human Rights Advocacy: Support and advocate for human rights in all daily interactions, conducting monthly Human Rights training as a certified Human Rights Advocate.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, special education) with at least two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, and/or physical disabilities.
Experience: Proven experience in day support services and/or supervisory roles is preferred.
Valid driver's license.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Proactive Approaches to Behavioral Challenges (PABC) certification or ability to pass PABC training to obtain certification.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and implement Individual Support Plans (ISP).
Proficiency in electronic record systems (e.g., Therap).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
Job Type: Fulltime
Salary: $53,750
