Description
Position OverviewAnalytics, Institutional Research, & Effectiveness (AIRE) at the University of Kansas brings together analytical and technical staff to support KU's data strategy and data-informed decision making. The Data Services Coordinator plays a key role in supporting enterprise data integration and data management initiatives within the central data office. This position is responsible for coordinating data projects end-to-end, working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data modelers to ensure that business requirements are translated into high-quality data solutions. The role involves requirements gathering, coordinating testing, assisting with migration to production, and providing ongoing support and troubleshooting. The Data Services Coordinator will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions and contribute to KU's mission of fostering analytics and data governance.

Job Description
Project Coordination (30%):
- Coordinate data integration projects and act as a liaison between business users, data engineers, and technical teams.
- Planning project tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Work with functional teams to capture and document system and data requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for data modeling and engineering teams.
- Partner with data modelers to validate data structures and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Develop and execute test cases to validate data accuracy and completeness.
- Document test results and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with functional teams.
- Track and manage defect resolution throughout the testing cycle.
- Coordinate with technical teams to schedule data migration activities to production environments.
- Ensure readiness of functional teams for production rollout.
- Assist in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving data-related issues in collaboration with technical teams.
- Provide post-implementation support and ensure proper documentation of resolutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business, or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience supporting data services initiatives, integration projects, or performing business systems analysis.
- Three (3) years of experience working with enterprise software systems and system integrations, including testing, validation, and issue resolution.
- Three (3) years of experience working with structured data file formats such as XML and JSON.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams as evidenced by application materials.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and functional teams as evidenced by application materials.
- Proven ability to document business and technical requirements, test cases, and outcomes with accuracy and attention to detail as evidenced by application materials.
