Job DescriptionThe University of Maryland, Baltimore's (UMB) Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (PTRS) within the School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Community Program Coordinator in the Center for Disability Justice.
The Coordinator will be responsible for producing mutually beneficial relationships resulting in meaningful and sustainable educational, employment, and economic opportunities to serve the Center for Disability Justice. This position plans, organizes, and coordinates technology, resources, networks, and partnerships for groups, individuals, and/or families to achieve the goals to improve the community well-being of Maryland's residents.

PRIMARY DUTIES
- Coordinate activities and functions of a designated program or programs to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities of the program(s) with inter-related activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
- Manage data collection, keep records of program activities: progress, status, and outcomes, and prepare reports for management.
- Recruit program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures, or presentations..
- Work with the department Grants and Contracts Specialist to provide information for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
- Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and partners in order to grow the programming.
- Schedule, market, and promote events of the programs.
- May coordinate, monitor or supervise the activities of work study students, volunteers, and contractual employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: One (1) year of administrative or program coordination experience.
Preferred: High level of Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Forms, Teams), SurveyMonkey, and Eventbrite. Ability to be proficient using the following Blackboard, Constant Contact, Web CPI, and CORE ELMS.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must possess strong organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve with minimal supervision with skill in exercising initiative and resourcefulness.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in a professional manner, both orally and in writing with a variety of people internal and external to the organization.
- Excels as a team player.
- Willingness to manage multiple tasks at once and adhere to guidelines and deadlines.
HIRING RANGE: $50,000 - $56,000 per year / Commensurate with education and experience
