Description
Campus Organizer, The Wisco Project
The Organization:
The Wisco Project is Wisconsin’s largest, scrappiest youth vote organization. We run large-scale organizing and digital programming to reach and mobilize students across the state. In 2026, we will seek to build on the work of previous cycles to run our strongest program yet and score progressive victories for students across the state. This will be a crucial year for Wisconsin and we are in need of talented, dedicated staff ready to take on this challenge with us!
What Will You Do?
We are looking for Campus Organizers to energize, educate, and mobilize students on college campuses across Wisconsin. Campus Organizers should be willing to be scrappy and persistent in their pursuit to exceed goals and empower young people. The role will start early February and run through 11/15/2026, with a possibility of extension. This position will be based in Wisconsin and requires a significant amount of in-person work. Supporter housing may be available.
Campus Organizers are crucial to our success in 2026, and will work on the Organizing team to:
Build trust with students and organizations on campus to create lasting infrastructures of empowerment on campus
Recruit, train, and manage a team of student volunteers and paid fellows who will mobilize their peers and help create community on campus
Use Direct Voter Contact (DVC) methods such as high-traffic canvassing, door knocking, tabling, textbanking, phonebanking, etc. to mobilize as many students as possible
Facilitate the creativity of student volunteers/fellows, and help plan events that effectively engage students on campus
All other duties as assigned
Who Are You?
A successful candidate for this role will have:
A passion for progressive politics and inspiring young people to get involved
Be a self-starter, exceptionally well-organized, skillful problem solver, and have strong time management skills.
Be eager to talk to as many students as possible (and be comfortable talking to a lot of strangers/potential volunteers).
Be able to work weekends and irregular hours as required
Have access to reliable transportation
Previous experience organizing for an electoral campaign is a plus; previous experience with campus organizing is a bigger plus. Neither are required.
