Berkshire Trails Camp is seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Arts & Crafts Coordinator to lead our Arts & Crafts program for the summer season. This seasonal leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creativity, enjoys working with children, and is excited to build an engaging, well-structured program within a camp environment.

The Arts & Crafts Coordinator serves as the head of the department and is responsible for designing, organizing, and overseeing a dynamic arts program for campers of various ages. The program includes traditional and creative art activities such as drawing, coloring, painting, jewelry making, T-shirt design, and pottery. A key component of the role is safely managing and operating the pottery kiln and ensuring all safety procedures are followed.

This position works closely with camp leadership to align the Arts & Crafts program with the camp’s values and daily schedule, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and inspiring space where campers can explore creativity and self-expression.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting
• Strong background or demonstrated skills in visual arts, including drawing, painting, and mixed media
• Experience with jewelry making, T-shirt design, and pottery
• Knowledge of kiln operation and pottery safety procedures (required)
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate arts and crafts programming
• Strong leadership and organizational skills; ability to supervise and support staff or assistants if applicable
• Commitment to camper safety, positive behavior management, and inclusive programming
• Ability to manage supplies, maintain an organized workspace, and care for equipment
• Energetic, flexible, and team-oriented with a positive attitude
• Available for the full summer camp season
