- Aquatics Supervisor

Locations: Camp Ledgewood in Peninsula, OH and/or Camp Timberlane in Wakeman, OH
Summer Camp Dates (including staff training days): June 3 - August 11, 2026
Compensation: $575.00 per week
The Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all water-based activities at the pool, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where campers can enjoy and develop their aquatic skills. This role includes supporting lifeguards, managing the daily operation of the pool area, and implementing water safety protocols in accordance with Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO), and American Camp Association (ACA) standards. The Aquatic Supervisor plays a key role in upholding a camper-centered approach, where each participant feels supported, secure, and empowered to explore water activities.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- During staff training, teach staff their responsibilities in activities at the pool in conjunction with GSUSA, GSNEO, and ACA standards
- Teach and monitor the proper use of equipment
- Check equipment daily and report in writing any repairs that are needed to the supervisor
- Evaluate the swimming abilities of staff and campers
- Plan and work with others during special aquatic activities
- Keep all pool records
- Report all incidents/accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Work with the Camp Director and Property Manager to ensure proper care of pool Conduct initial and end-of-season inventory; store equipment for safety
- Responsible for completing and returning all records to their supervisor
- Assist the Camp Director in evaluating the current season and help make recommendations for the next season
- Maintain GSUSA, GSNEO, and ACA standards at all times
- Responsible for the welfare, safety, and cleanliness of each individual at the pool
- Perform other duties as assigned to promote the successful implementation of GSNEO’s goals/objectives
Requirements
- Minimum age 21
- Training and experience in waterfront activities and management
- Currently lifeguard or swim instructor certified from a nationally recognized body
- Ability to schedule and supervise staff
- Good organizational skills
- Experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity (preferably in an organized camp)
- Knowledge of girl-led programming in relationship to programming implementation preferred
- Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external customers
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
Computer literacy and technical knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Publisher, Excel, and the Internet - Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary
Well-disciplined, able to meet deadlines - Self-starter
- Able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work well as a part of a team
- Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred
